Amanda is one of my best friends. We were in each other’s weddings so when her and her husband had their baby girl I was determined to coordinate our schedules to squeeze in a newborn studio session for her baby girl. Of course, babies come when they want and Cora came during one of my busiest weeks of the summer so iI was unable to make it to her hospital for a fresh 48 session and Amanda had an emergency c-section so we waited about 3 weeks before they came to the studio for a session.
The challenge with a 3 week old is that they are very aware and don’t sleep as often as the younger babies. she did not like being unwrapped so most of the photos of her were taken in different wrapping combinations so she would remain happy and warm. After photographing baby Cora by herself, we took a few portraits of Mom and Dad with baby individually and together as a new family.
If you are interested in your own studio newborn portrait session, please reach out through my contact form for more information. It is never too early to plan as baby will typically throw a monkey wrench in the plan regardless but we will be ready for it. 🙂
