Kay English Wedding Photography Workshops | Monmouth County NJ Wedding Photographer
Kay English is a mentor of mine that I love to follow online. Her workshop “Finding the Light” was her 2nd wedding photography workshop. Her first workshop was last spring at Monmouth University. I also attended her first workshop because I loves her work and I really admire her styling. I met Kay through my friend Jessica, who I used to work for during my first 2 years of business. Kay and I have become closer over the last year and I hope to work with her on a photo session or a wedding sometime in the near future.
My friend, Kristen, and I went to her workshop on April 9th, which was held at The English Manor in Ocean, NJ. On top of it being a reunion for some of us local photographers, I met many new friends at the workshop. In the morning, we took pictures of a wonderfully detailed table setup, details of a few boutonnieres and a cake that was going to be used at a wedding that night and we had great models to take pictures of in the afternoon around the grounds of The English Manor.
I love going to workshops, not only to meet other local or like-minded photographers but to get an opportunity to photograph a heavily styled couple without the pressures of a real wedding day. I have the opportunity to be more relaxed and play more with unique styles and/or angles that I would not want to typically play with on a real wedding day. I don’t want to guess about anything at a real wedding.
Here is a sneak peek at our group photo session with the models.
