Best Engagement Session Outfit Ideas | Rustic NJ Engagement Pictures

Below are just a few examples by season of what to wear to your engagement session. These examples are taken directly from my 2015 Wedding Client Guide that I give to my potential clients at their wedding photography consultation.

The goal is for your outfits to match, just enough. Wear colors in the same color family or contrasting color family. If you do an internet search for a color wheel, you will see exactly what I am talking about. All of the couples featured below dressed for the season that we were photographing their pictures in and embraced their surroundings.

I always suggest having 2 outfits, one that is a little dressier and one that is more casual. I prefer women to wear a dress for one of their outfits. For men, I do not like shirts with writing on it, unless it is part of a theme or prop. Remember, you want to wear clothing that isn’t too trendy or that will age/date the image. I am looking to achieve a timeless and romantic look in all of your pictures.
