Shadowbrook Wedding | Love Me I Do Photography | Monmouth County NJ Wedding Photographer

Katie and Nick were supposed to be wed on November 3rd at Shadowbrook in Shrewsbury, NJ, but because of Hurricane Sandy, their wedding date was moved to December 1st. The Shadowbrook was very accommodating, but they still did not have full power back to their venue the day before their wedding date so they suggested moving the date. It actually worked out perfectly for me because I had lost my home to Sandy and was still just trying to get my life back in order after losing almost everything I owned and I was still not able to get back into my house to take anything of value out or get survival items. Mike and I just had to wait and wait and go to stores and buy new clothes and toiletries to hold us over until we were finally able to get back to our house and see what we could salvage.

Luckily, Katie and Nick were given a new wedding date and I have to say that they handled the whole situation really well. Katie had a fall themed wedding planned for November 3rd and with her wedding date changing to December, they had to deal with some Christmas decor that the venue had out for Christmas & holiday themed parties. The vendors did a wonderful job and the room looked stunning. Katie’s flowers were awesome. We also had a challenge on our hands for portraits because of Daylight Saving Time changing over the course of November so we had less daylight than we had hoped.

All in all, everything worked out great! Katie and Nick were married, the wedding was beautiful and almost everyone that was originally going to come to the wedding was able to make arrangements to come on December 1st. Katie and Nick’s reception was pretty wild. Katies brother played guitar and sang the father/daughter song, called Cinderella. They had lots of great music and their last dance was, Hey Jude by The Beatles, which was the song that Nick proposed to during The Beatles Love show in Las Vegas! So precious 🙂
